During the month I have been visited the POP mandals in Prakasam and Visakapatnam. I want to share my experience with POP cell
Prakasam:
Visited Santamagulur mandal and Mamidipalli village on 9th of July and discussed with mandal level staff about POP strategy and interacted with POP CAs about their experience with SHG. And discussed to be developed the Santamagulur mandal as Model mandal in all aspects. Mandal level staff and MS OB accepted to take up the Santamagulur mandal to mould as Model. I have been facilitated the staff to take two VOs for adoption.

In Mamidipalli village there are 7 POP SHGs. Even 8 years experienced SHG also were not receiving the loan as per their entitlement
After the POP CCs training POP CC Mr. Gopi have taken initiation to conduct the training to SHGs and motivated the leftover poor to join into SHGs.
POP families have selected two POP CAS they are Parvathi 5th std and Prasanna 8th std. Out of 80 SC families 45 families have been attended the meeting in the evening at church premises. We explained the POP strategy to the POP families. MS OB also involved in the meeting. All the 45 POP families expressed their happiness about the POP strategy in the form of song.
Visakapatnam:
I have been visited the POP Mandals in Visakapatnam from 13th to 18th July10.

Unheard voice:
Marthalli (Mild MR) an unmarried SC woman is living in Pulaparthi village. She has a blind mother. Both of them living in small kacha house. Her sister has (physically handicapped) got married but her husband has died. Marthalli is looking after her blind mother. Hardly she do the labor work for 10 days and getting wage of Rs around 1200.00. Her mother is getting disable pension of Rs 500.00. Marthalli looks like a malnourished with full of bones. She has no idea to maintain the small petty shop or 100 days work because of her ill health.
She said that she has no desire to get more income. Just she need stable income at least per month 2500. That is enough for her to look after herself and her mother.
I felt sad that, how we ignore this kind of families. In what way we need to help them. FOOD FOR THOUGHTS
I motivated her to join in SHG meeting also informed the VO OB not to insist fixed savings.
POP CCs Intervention:
Yalamanchili POP CC Mr. Rajubabu(In charge) has taken initiation (After the POP CCs training) He explained the branch managers about POP strategy and made linkage up to 5,00,000 for POP SHGs.

Kalikadevi SHG 4,50,000
Ananthagiri POP CC also taken initiation and explained the POP strategy to Sri Sathya sai trust. Trust people impressed about the strategy and they decided to provide the 10 kgs of rice, cooking vesils, blankets, Cloths for 200 families in POP villages.
Observations:
· Not provided TA and DA while the POP CCs are attended the training to Hyderabad
· Going the villages is very horrible because of hill station. Two wheelers are getting repaired frequently. But TPMU is not paying the vehicle maintenance cost.
· POP CRPs conducted the POP survey. VORT teams also conducted the survey for two days. Out of 4 VORT CRPs 2 CRPs are men. There is no proper clarity to VORT teams regarding POP strategy.
· In Vizianagaram District Zilla samakhya own funds are laid idle of Rs 4.38 crores. If they start to help to PIOP families around 1000 POP families will benefit per year( for Land lease 5000.00 per 0.50 cents in Vizianagaram) Zilla samakhya may utilize the iele fund to this purpose.FOOD FOR THOUGHTS

I think the efforts of PoP CC in putting in special efforts for the bank linkage to PoP SHG is laudable. This is what we all are aiming for - same but special efforts for PoP families.
Regarding Marthalli, may be her handicapped sister can manage a telephone booth. I know its difficult, but may be as special case we need to invest on her health for some period - say 3-6 months, then look at some livelihood option for her
